If You Really Want to Test Your “Mettle,” Tackle the “Century” Challenge. Matt Paschall Does…Every Year!

When local businessman Matt Paschall gets on his racing bike, chances are he’s taking it further than your average cycling enthusiast. A few times a year, Matt participates in a “Century” ride, a grueling 100-mile course that really tests each rider’s limits. Matt loves pushing himself to go further and relishes the satisfaction of completing the entire course. Ask any of Matt’s family and friends what really makes him tick, and they’ll probably tell you it’s his penchant for pushing himself to do even better—no matter what he undertakes. Matt is his own biggest competitor, and he’s always searching for ways to test his mettle and enrich his own life as well as the lives of his family and community. He simply raises the bar in everything he does.

Knowledge is Power

From an early age, Matt’s “pursuit of excellence” manifested itself in education. After excelling in the classroom and garnering a number of scholastic awards in high school, Matt went on to earn a business administration degree with an emphasis in finance from Howard University. After cutting his teeth in the business world, Matt then returned to school and earned an MBA from George Washington University, this time, with an emphasis in marketing.

Man of Letters

Matt’s rigorous academic background prepared him for the fast-paced world of corporate America. After working his way up through the sales force at IBM, Matt took a management role at Xerox where he and his team created custom-tailored marketing campaigns. Once again, Matt’s successful track record at Xerox propelled him to a national management position for an up-and-coming Internet company. In addition to honing his management skills, Matt characteristically soaked up all that he could about software and web marketing. In all of his corporate endeavors, Matt consistently pushed himself to excel and grow.

Body Fuels the Mind

As a former varsity athlete and a lifelong sports enthusiast, Matt is a firm believer in the adage “The body fuels the mind.” When he’s not busy helping a client with a business strategy, there’s a good chance he’s zooming through Rock Creek Park on his Tour de France–style racing bike or lining up his approach shot on the nearby golf course. For Matt, the challenge and personal growth he receives from these athletic endeavors are a key component to his continual pursuit of excellence.
